Job Title: Senior Database Administrator Consultant

Mandatory Skills: Oracle Certified Professional or DBA Certification in-progress

Job Description:

  • Oracle 9i RAC and Oracle 10g
  • 3-5 years of Database Administration experience
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

Responsibilities:

  • Support, administer, optimize and maintain production and development Oracle 9i/10g database environments running on HP/Solaris/Windows platforms
  • Provide database design for Oracle databases
  • Provide full support of Oracle RAC services including ASM and Oracle’s Clusterware
  • Provide support of maintenance, RMAN backups, and monitoring of Oracle databases
  • Establish and maintain defined database backup and maintenance jobs/procedures
  • Provide high-level instance and statement level tuning, and optimum data loading techniques
  • Plan, install, and upgrade database binaries and instances
  • Ensure allocation of database system storage for optimum I/O
  • Ensure proper database security guidelines followed

Job Title: Administrative Assistant/Reception

Mandatory Skills:

  • Post secondary education is preferred
  • Strong customer service orientation and telephone manner
  • Experience in an administrative role an asset
  • Attention to details and adaptability are strong assets
  • Strong PC skills and experience with Microsoft Office software applications
  • Experience with Linux and UNIX operating systems would be an asset

Job Description:

  • Responsible for the overall customer service, administration, telephone/paging system and tracking of visitors to the location
  • Work closely with all other departments in the facility to ensure that all office administration is completed in an efficient and timely manner

Responsibilities:

  • Customer service as it relates to greeting and signing in visitors, including contractors, to the facility and telephone calls to the facility
  • Manage the inventory of the mailroom and order general office supplies as required
  • Receive and distribute faxes
  • Create memos, letters and other miscellaneous communications as required by various departments
  • Stamp and code all invoices, photocopy, obtain appropriate sign offs and send to Accounts Payable
  • Delivery of internal and external mail, including couriers
  • Train back up employees for break and vacation coverage
  • Provide administrative support to DBA Consultant and Sales departments
  • Assist with various HR tasks which include, but are not limited to employee events (BBQ, Christmas party, etc), hourly job postings, coordinating interviews, orientations, the development and maintenance of a resume database, data entry, filing and research information for various labour relations issues
  • Processes and hourly and salaried pay stubs
  • Coordinates and issues Monthly facility newsletter
  • All other job duties as required
